Frequently Asked Questions

The primary goal is to link and support ombudsmen at universities and, in the future, at lower levels of education. However, the impact of our activities is visible at the level of individual academic institutions.

Are you a student and something unpleasant is happening to you or are you witnessing unacceptable behaviour? We cannot deal with the case directly for you, but we can advise you on who to contact at your school. We can also advise you on the appropriate course of action. If your college or university does not have an ombudsperson position, we can enter into discussions with relevant stakeholders to support the establishment of this position.

Be sure to reach out and connect with us! It doesn't matter so much whether you are a student, parent or expert in the field of education... We are very keen to connect with people who would like to address the topic of safe environments in universities or the impact of power asymmetries. We are happy to work with you and involve you in our activities, especially in order to strengthen the relevance of our topics in the public space or professional circles.

Members of the SOP hold positions at public universities or similar positions focused on promoting social security. We are connected in a virtual community.

The Platform Committee meets once a month for regular online meetings, and several times a year physically for strategic meetings. Committee members are in touch on an ongoing basis and try to respond to current events.

In this respect, our activity has two parts: the first is not public, while the second is for a wider audience. In particular, the interview meetings used to develop the professional skills of ombudsmen are open only to full members of the association. Similarly, in carrying out our activities, we ensure the confidentiality of the information obtained, unless otherwise agreed with the person making the complaint.

At the same time, however, we believe that the topic of social security and fair access is an extremely important topic for open discussion. In our work we therefore try to combine both approaches - the principle of confidentiality and the desire to engage in public debate.

Currently, the activities of the platform are funded by membership fees of CZK 800 per year. If you are considering supporting our activities, please do not hesitate to contact us, we will be happy to issue a donation receipt.
